Dryas Camp sits along the western edge of Camp McCarthy with expansive views across the Kennicott River Valley to the Wrangell Mountains. This private safari-style canvas tent rests on a raised platform with a covered deck, an ideal spot to watch the midnight sun or take in wildlife moving through the valley below.

Inside, you’ll find a comfortable queen bed dressed in premium linens and a warm down comforter, bedside tables, a small table and chairs, and a portable propane heater for cool Alaska evenings. Hot water bottles are provided for added comfort on chilly nights. Your tent is a peaceful retreat; meals, coffee, and gathering take place in the shared Pavilion just steps away.

Good to Know

Camp McCarthy is a backcountry glamping experience in bear country. For wildlife safety, no cooking is permitted in tents or on-site. McCarthy and Kennicott offer excellent restaurants nearby, and we’re happy to share suggestions for picnic-style foods to enjoy at the Pavilion.
